PLANNING

Meet at 9:00 am in St. André les Alpes in the parking lot of the Super U supermarket (see access map).

From there, you will follow the ABOARD Rafting guide to get to Colmars les Alpes, from where he will organize a shuttle to drop off vehicles at the arrival of the canyon. A forest track allows direct access to the canyon without having to walk long time.

After being equipped, your guide will give a briefing on rappelling techniques and safety in the canyons.

Canyoning in La Lance

The Lance canyon is a wild canyon located in an alpine setting, on the edge of the Mercantour park. The descent begins at nearly 1600 m. of altitude in the heart of a larch forest. The beginning of the course is essentially aquatic, punctuated by jumps in large basins and slides. Then, the verticality of the canyon implies making abseils, sometimes under waterfall, alternating with a progression in the water. A large slab in the sun will welcome you for a picnic break, above a basin where it is tempting to make (and redo) jumps. The canyon then narrows in a parade of waterfalls crossed thanks to abseils and jumps (up to 12 m.), Before arriving at the great waterfall of the Lance, the end point of the descent. A short 15 minute walk will take us back to vehicles.
